Marbella is such a beautiful place to be all year round, but our favourite season has to be spring. Spring is the start of the busiest part of the year for the Costa del Sol, when we can dispense with our winter warmers, throw open the windows and let in the fresh, warm air.
Our rural location means that we can enjoy the blossom and flowers coming into bloom in the mountains. At this time of year the whole area looks green, beautiful and ready to be explored. Spring is a great time to walk in the stunning countryside, horse ride, take a Buggy Safari or try out canyoning. There are lots of wonderful adventure activities near the hotel and we have a whole page of options for you to take a look at. Due to the winter rains everything is lush and the temperature is perfect for an adventure without breaking into too much of a sweat.
It’s a good time for golf as well, with lovely temperatures and a huge range of golf courses within a small area. You can come for a short break and try out three or four amazing courses with very little travelling time from the hotel. We’re really close to Nueva Andalucia’s golf valley and only 10 minutes from Rio Real golf course, Santa Clara Golf, Monte Paraiso Golf, Marbella Golf & Country Club and more.
If you want to get active, whilst relaxing and recharging those batteries, then why not come and check out the gorgeous spring weather for yourself and join us for our Yoga, Ayurveda & Kundalini Retreat between 5th and 12th March? Our last retreat was a transformational experience for all the participants, with the combination of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and down time giving them spectacular results that they have been benefiting from ever since. To share the experience with more people we are repeating it in March and we’d love you to join us. Give yourself the best Valentine’s present your body could ask for by booking your place now, as places are limited.
As well as the great activities on offer, this is the time when Andalucia starts to shake off its winter cloak (if you could call it “winter” here) and the packed schedule of events, ferias and festivals begins. It starts with a week of Easter activities at the end of March, with Malaga having some of the most spectacular parades. Two weeks after Easter the legendary Seville Feria takes place with non-stop music, dancing, eating and drinking, daily bullfights and stunning horses everywhere.
If you love good food and trying delicacies from all around the world, come to see us at the end of April and visit Fuengirola’s food festival Feria Internacional de los Pueblos, where more than 50 countries showcase their national dishes, music and traditions. It’s a wonderful event and shows just how international this coast really is.
This is the time when the beach clubs and chiringuitos which close for the winter open again for their season and the excitement about the arrival of summer is palpable. So spring really offers all the benefits of a trip to the Costa del Sol, without the high prices and crowds. Come and see what we’re talking about and book a short break at The Urban Villa. We’re looking forward to meeting you.
